cupani, formerly known as albula & turmoil, is an expedition-style motor yacht crafted by royal denship. previously utilized for marine research voyages, this versatile vessel offers boundless possibilities for its next owners, boasting ample accommodations, a diverse range of equipment, and a robust design. featuring a spacious boat deck capable of accommodating tenders up to 32 feet with a 10,000 lbs swl single-point lift crane, cupani also doubles as a heli deck on the bridge aft. the bridge deck is equipped with a 2,000 lbs swl crane and serves as overflow storage for smaller boats. the yacht includes dedicated work areas such as a wet lab, lecture room/office, and a generous lazarette with a wet work area. additional highlights comprise a drop-down swim platform, an expansive dive locker with a compressor, and ample storage. accommodating up to 16 guests in 8 staterooms and 14 crew members, cupani features an owner’s deck with a spacious full-beam suite and two separate ensuites, along with a private deck aft. other guest cabins are situated on the accommodation deck, including three cabins with twin beds, two cabins with a king bed, and one with a double bed – all equipped with ensuites. cupani adheres to solas requirements for its bridge and navigation systems, boasting x and s band radars, a transas electronic navigational chart system, and a furuno deep water sounder and sonar. although not ice-classed, the vessel's hull and frame spacing are ice-strengthened, meeting 1d requirements, enabling it to operate in the vicinity of ice with due navigational caution. with a gross tonnage of 1,428 tonnes, cupani is powered by twin cat 3516b engines (2,260 hp), offering a range of approximately 6,500 nautical miles at 15 knots.
