when lagoon designed this 42 they hit the exact sweet spot for couples cruising. they made best use of the busiest living space: the main salon and cockpit. they made dinghy access, launch and storage easy. they moved the mast aft to make the main sail more manageable, and to provide for a big, self-tacking genoa. the u-shaped galley, excellent anchor access, easy and safe boom access, and many other details are top priorities on a cruiser’s wish list. the proof is here in the huge market success of this design. pride of ownership and ease of upkeep is obvious here in charis.
