2004 boston whaler dauntless 220 this is is a 2004 hull and motor. the hull includes a t-top and the fisherman package (except for the pedestal seats, which i no longer have). i also have in storage the cushion set, boat cover set, and spray curtains. the t-top fabric is nearing time for replacement. the motor is a mercury saltwater 225 four stroke, which is a rebadged yamaha f225. in 2004 mercury did not have a four stroke v-6 outboard, so they cut a deal with yamaha for 5000 engines, painted them black, and molded a new bonnet for them. except for the paint color, wiring harness, and bonnet, the motor is 100% yamaha f-225. the motor had its annual service this spring at sea hag marina. there are approximately 1350 hours on the motor. historically the v-6 yamaha 4 strokes are good for 3000-5000 hours, depending on use and the degree of care and maintenance. the boat's performance with this engine is a maximum speed of 45 mph lightly loaded, 42 mph with a heavy load. fuel economy is approximately 3.5 mph at 28-30 mph. the two cranking batteries are 1 and 2 years old. the two trolling motor batteries are about 4 years old and likely will need to be replaced in a year or two. there is a mounting plate installed for a minn-kota trolling motor. the battery charger for the trolling motor batteries is about 4 years old and works well. there is no charger for the cranking batteries i top them off occasionally with my portable charger as needed. the trailer is a 2015 owens & sons aluminum with torsion axles. new brakes and tires last summer. there is damage to the left pvc guide where i clipped a tree in the backyard during a tight turn. the guide is still functional but ugly.
